54I just read Tom Gabel/Laura Jane Grace’s article in Rolling Stone. Pretty much in tears. I also saw the picture where he is taking his first hormone pills.I really am surprised nobody questioned him on it before. I’m not a huge fan like Norm or some of my friends but, I always thought it was one of those things acknowledged but never spoke of?
Some thoughts from a Gender Studies class I took:
We can modify or enhance ourselves to look like anything we want,(including blimp sized breast implants or a lizard or a cat) without the medical system stopping us, but to change from one biological sex to another we need approval from psychiatrists and doctors. Not criticizing the decisions for huge breasts or to look like an animal, it just shows the prejudice towards people who are gender dysphoric.
To transform from a man to a woman can cost around $100,000 dollars.
We had a few speakers in my class last semester that had already changed or were in process. They were great and I learned a lot.
Also,
due to my many new friends and all the references on other shows I watch I will be undertaking Star Trek.

I’ve been writing like a madwoman the last few days. Mostly inspired by that blissful weekend in the woods. I have been world building, character creating and making new friends.
The only thing holding me back was trying to finish up the last Harry Potter novel.
I need something to keep me on track. I have fifty different ideas, questions and brief outlines to different projects written on my computer. That’s not even the bits I have jotted down on paper, cardboard, receipts and napkins. I’m not organized.
Sometimes I think it would be easier to write with a partner, somebody with OCD, who could take all my ideas and energy and put them in some sort of reasonable fashion? But, I am such a control freak that even sharing ideas worries me that they will be stolen. Im highly territorial.
